UTHM Hosts the Virtual Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) 2023

ENHANCING TVET PERSONNEL PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND INSTRUCTIONAL COMPETENCIES FOR QUALITY EDUCATION

A training course on Enhancing TVET Personnel Professional Skills and Instructional Competencies for Quality Education was successfully organised by the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). This online course was conducted from 10 July until 14 July 2023. This course adopted interactive online activities, classes, group discussions, and presentations. Implementing this course enables Malaysia to share expertise and experiences in the area of TVET Educator. 16 Participants involved in this course were from Pakistan, Algeria, Brunei Darussalam, Ecuador, Malawi, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco, Turkmenistan, Eswatini (Swaziland), Indonesia and Bostwana. They acted as mediators and small ambassadors for their countries to discuss and share experiences related to the skill development of TVET educator’s issues. Furthermore, Malaysia is one of the countries that emphasises bilateral relations to strengthen and empower the good relationship in stabilising the economy, politics and society in this region. In conjunction with that, this five-day course is one of the ways the Malaysian government strengthened the relationship between the countries involved. It is envisaged that the intellectual discourse from this programme will result in future collaborations between governments, universities, research institutions and industries at the international level.
 
The programme was officiated by Professor Ts. Dr. Azme bin Khamis; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International). While in the closing session, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Musli bin Mohammad; Director of PPBA UTHM presented closing remarks to the participants and trainers. At the closing remarks, the official representative from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Malaysia; Mr. Mustaffa Khair bin Johari was also present to give speech. The course was coordinated by the Centre for Continuous Learning and APEL (PPBA) under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Malaysia. Trainers for this course were Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mimi Mohaffyza binti Mohamad, from the Malaysia Research Institute of Vocational Educationand Training (MyRIVET), Associate Professor Ts. Dr. D'oria Islamiah binti Rosli, Ts. Dr.Yusmarwati binti Yusof, Ts. Dr. Zurina binti Yasak, and Dr. Nurhanim Saadah binti Abdullah from the Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education (FPTV).
